This toy is a NZ icon. It was designed and made around 1930 and quickly became a popular toy to give to toddlers. Its wings move around as it is pulled along, and it makes a clicking noise. It became even more popular in 1983, when Prince William (then a toddler) was given one while on his visit to NZ with his parents.
lovely reflection - we had one of these as children in the UK - don't think we bought one for my daughter - we had a particularly noisy duck and ducklings instead
This is a marvellous shot. I had one of these and Mum said when the buzzing noise stopped for too long, she knew it was time to investigate what I was up to.
