New ponga frond

At this time of the year, the NZ Ponga (tree fern) start to grow new fronds. They are really lovely, but are often difficult to get an image of…..
This shape is a koru (Maori for loop), which symbolises new life, growth, strength and peace. This shape is often used in Maori art, tattoos and carving.
