My dad has been dead for nearly 10 years and I still cannot throw out his lovely old working boots. He farmed right up until he died, at 84, and wore these boots nearly every day. They are sitting on a post and in the background is part of the farm he worked so hard on for about 55 years.
I'd be the same! So hard to part with something so special in memory of a parent. I posted my mother's bucket of flowers that I've had for 13 years :) Terrific capture.
A very moving story of determination & commitment Dianne. They are a true tribute to your hard working dad......beautiful in the sense of the man that was your dad. These old farmers never cease to be farmers first in every aspect of their lives...I know that!
Love this shot - got me thinking of my Dad's old work boots - they were hob-nailed boots which he carefully cleaned then rubbed them with mutton fat every week .. no wonder the dogs stayed close at heel.
