The boys

Today, we had friends arrive with their two little boys. What fabulous parents - the boys had their 'red band' gumboots on, were allowed to explore, fall over, feed the chooks, eat the chook food, carry eggs without a fuss, walk on rough ground, get dirty…. On top of that, the oldest one arrived clutching a book and they were off to the library to hear the author read this book to the kids…. No fuss, no bother, gumboot clad - off they went. What great kids they are - and such lucky little guys to have parents like that!
That's the way to bring kids up....I must admit our two grandchildren are allowed to do pretty much anything they like outside. Makes me cringe sometimes but they never seem to come to any bother. Lucky boys & you are a good friend for appreciating them....the parents would be delighted to read this!

Just as all kids should be allowed to do. Great parenting.

Great to see the youngsters enjoying the basics.

Lovely that they are allowed that freedom. There are a lot of 'cotton-wool' kids around these days.

Great when parents aren't too precious about their children. Nice shots.

That must have been fun for the kids. My wife, daughter and in-law would not even consider letting the children romp around like that.

Eggs from chickens - great! I just felt a tad fazed at 'eat the chook food'!!

What great parents. It is so wrong to protect and mollycuddle kids. They need to take small risks and learn from that. Lovely shot
