This two brother pair came second in the sawing finals in the local axemens competition. As the next camera club topic is photojournalism, please feel free to comment on the worthiness or not of this image. It is very difficult to get images without background clutter during the events. It was also raining at the time!
Looks better on black.
Perfect timing just as they sawed through the piece of wood. It looks very clear and well-focused to me and I like the facial expressions. I actually like the fact that they have an audience. Sorry, though, as you know I'm not the best person to give advice.
Love it in B&W as it take the colour distraction out of the frame but leaves enough with the onlookers. Facial expressions are great and bit of sawdust flying tell the story perfectly. Good capture, definitely enter it.
Yes, perfect for the photojournalism theme. You have captured the scene so well, it tells a story and the expression of determination on their faces is perfect.
You have enough action, and great timing, for the background clutter not to matter. I didn't notice it until after I read your comments. The action and timing are superb.
Yes, this is great. Facial expressions, sawdust, effort showing. The audience would have been distracting in color, but BW evens out the background so that you just concentrate on the action. And you caught the falling log section!
Ditto what many others have said about the perfect timing of the shot, the expressions of the on-lookers and other competitor as well as those of the brothers. Excellent story-telling here.
