The Butcher

The theme for next week's camera club judging night is 'buildings and architecture'. I went into our local town tonight to see what I could find. I love this old sign from the butcher's shop and like the simplicity of this image. It might be a contender for the competition - we can enter up to two images in this set topic.

Lovely architecture and different as it's taken at night. Would you consider cropping the rusty piping at the bottom. Just a thought.

@kathiecb yes I hummed and haaared about the rusty veranda roof but felt it gave a bit more perspective, so ended up leaving it in.

You're right to leave the rusty roof in, it is, IMO, an essential part of the whole scene. I like the image very much, the lighting's spot-on and you've done an excellent job of capturing this lovely old gable and its sign. Love it.
