The difference

Had a great day on Tiritiri Matangi Island today with some camera club friends. Here are a takahe (on left) and pukeko. There are similarities between the two species, but once you have seen an endangered takahe, you can see the differences.

I love their unique names. The Takahe’s beak and feet are so interesting.

Much bigger aren't they...lovely to see the Takahe, same family I should think though Dianne? The Takahe is looking very clumsy compared to the little pukeko.
