Waihi Railway Station

We are staying here tonight in a big grassy area opposite the rail station. The station is only used for train rides between Waihi and Waikino (about 6 km away) so no overnight trains rumbling through! Nice peaceful spot.

@yorkshirekiwi I did Waihi to Waikino and back. Today Waikino to Paeroa. We have done the trail before but love the gorge part the best.

@golftragic yep - we love it. It’s so easy to head off at short notice. This is a large grassy area on the quiet side of town and there was one other van and one tent. There are toilets and power if you need it - we didn’t need power so it was $10 for the night.
