Karangahake Gorge Cycle Trail by dide

Karangahake Gorge Cycle Trail

Today I had a lovely cycle ride through the Karangahake Gorge to a small town called Paeroa. This is a very pretty ride following the river and with shelter from the headwind. There are lots of bridges and even a long tunnel. It was great to see so many family groups - often with three generations cycling along together.
Then I cycled another part of the Hauraki Rail Trail. The second part wasn't so much fun as there was a strong headwind and it was very hot. (I used the pedal assist on my bike for this part.) All up, I must've cycled around 45 km.
Good series of shots did you enjoy

Interesting record of a wonderful ride Dianne, cycling is really big over here even though the weather leaves a lot to be desired:)

Ooh an area I know quite well Dianne! That is a lovely part of NZ, we used to stop there at that railway cafe on our way to Whangamata. Love the little strawberry tarts there....our son in law cycled from Paeroa north along that track once. Beautiful.
