A few images to show the woodchopping events. They are competed for on a handicap system where contestants start between 3 seconds and 42 seconds, giving all a good chance to have a win. Each time a contestant wins, there is a second added onto their handicap. Some events are championship events, where everyone starts on 3 seconds. Jesse's favourite is the tree event.
@lmsa - from left clockwise - underhand chop, tree (or jiggerboard) chop, standing chop, double sawing and single sawing. There is often axe throwing too, where they throw an axe at a target.
Great collection of shots in this lovely collage. I remember other pictures you posted in the previous event - a year ago (?). Needs lots of strength and training, I suppose, to participate in an event like this.
