New Plymouth by dide

New Plymouth

We are staying in New Plymouth for a couple of days with my sister. She lives near the port and there is always lots to see. In port is a cruise ship and a cargo ship with wind generating turbine blades. The blades are being unloaded and they are huge! It's an interesting place to stay and we have had a couple of great swims.
Lovely collage. Have a nice time.

Several years ago there were some of those (turbine blades) built in Maine and loaded on a ship. I had to work and couldn't get down to get a picture.

The turbine blades are for the Waipipi Wind Farm just north of Waverly - it's typically West Coast Windy at the moment, so if you need a break from it I suggest the "Dept Cafe" on the corner of Devon and King St, opposite Peggy Gordons ;)

@graemestevens there’s so many blades being unloaded - it’s very interesting. Thanks for the recommendation.

@golftragic hi - yes a great spot to visit, with the added bonus of a sister and a son down that way.
