Humphries Dam by dide

Humphries Dam

Today we walked up into the hills above Picton to a wee dam. Humphries Dam was built in the 1920's to supply water to the township of Picton. It was in use until the 1950's when another dam was built. Nowdays, Picton gets most of its water supply from a bore and only draws water from the 1950's dam during peak demand. It was a lovely walk following the river and through lovely native bush.
Lovely image, and interesting information about the dam.
