A project taken on for fun and motivation :) I'm loving the challenge of seeking creativity in stolen moments and the freedom of simply snapping away. It's a chance to put my real camera aside, forget the endless tweaking of post-processing, and just take pictures! Most images here have been taken using the 'Hipstamatic' app on my iPhone 4, which makes for a nifty little take everywhere camera; the remainder with my Nikon D200.

These days I live in Townsville in northern Australia, where I studied photography at James Cook University from 2006-08. I'd like to say I've been taking pictures all my life, but that's not quite true. The addiction really began when I bought my first SLR (a Pentax MZ-5N) in 2001. I had a blast with film but only ever spent 6 months in the darkroom - though to be fair I did emerge looking like Gollum at the end of it. If you're interested in taking a peek at my more 'serious' photography, try http://500px.com/dietertracey/photos, www.redbubble.com/people/dietertracey or www.castlehillscapes.com.au.
