High Waters

Well, we were having a dry spell, at least up until yesterday. The last two days provided plenty of moisture, approximately 5 inches, some areas a little more. I was fortunate both days, but this morning I found one of my favorite back roads blocked by the flooded creek. The road had been barricaded at the one end, but not the end I entered. I soon found myself face to face with the water covered roadway. Fields were flooded, and as you can see in the center photo, the clouds were saturated with precipitation.
YOWZA!!! that is a lot of water...... hope the rain lets up soon.... stay dry and safe, rick.....

Great combo of shots. We have a couple rivers near where I live that seem to flood each year, always causing problems!

You'll probably find that it will be very wet fall-winter for you in the northern hemisphere - we had our wettest winter here in 12 years.

I can sympathize with this! I live in the Southeast (United States) and my area gets a lot of hurricane remnants. I've been thinking about looking for a boat to get to work. : )
By the way, I love the collage...it's a great visual description of your area.

This really tells the story well. Great job putting it together. Hope things dry out again soon, and hopefully there was no major damage.

Wet! Some great captures. We would not know what to do with that much water; that's over half a years worth for us.

Oh my goodness are we getting slammed here in VT too! nice for the people whose wells are drying up- not so much for enjoying fall.
Nice collage Rick :)

I'd happily take some of that excess rain out here in SoCa! We had the pleasure of some rolling thunder this morning, but the real rain won't come for another month, and then, only if we're lucky! It would seem you had no end of photo possibilities, and I must say, I love the one on the lower right...looks like an Impressionistic painting!

If you live in Ireland... there's rain all year round!!! Thankfully not too many of the big storms and heavy downpours.... but pretty constant.... if we have more than three dry days in a row we begin to talk about it!!!

Thanks for the collage. I have been visiting in Amish Country, PA when rains have come thru and flooded the roads and fields like your pictures show. So your collage brought back memories. NOT that I wish bad on local farmers or anything -- just that its interesting to see if you are there when its happening.

Oh wow! Thanks for posting the collage. It's really neat to see more first hand accounts rather than the snippets the news puts up. I love the variety of shots you put into it too!
