I paid a visit to my Mother's grave this past week, and while driving through the cemetary I noticed several monuments that truly catch your eye. This is one. I had to stop. I walked up to the monument and stared at it for a few moments. I am not trying to promote my religious beliefs, but for me personally, I couldn't help but imagine the sufferring that took place as Christ died upon the cross. Because this is an important aspect of my spiritual belief and the basis for my faith, It really tugged at my heart. I also believe in my heart that even though He did suffer as He was crucifiued, it wasn't the end. Visuals like this help to make this event more meaningful to us as Christians. My faith tells me that He is no longer on the cross, but instead He lives. He is "Still" alive.
Wow. I was just reading the cation and I think you've captured what your trying to say beautifully. I think it's awesome how a pictures worth a thousand words. :)
Concrete reminders like this are good for perspective sometimes. I find I haven't integrated very well the truth of what went on at the cross, as feebly as I can understand it. Thanks for the reminder.
This is an entirely beautiful posting. I love your words. This is THE VERY BEST of the "STILL ALIVE" photos. It is wonderful to know that Jesus is not dead but He has Risen as He said He Would and Because He lives we too can Live -- also Because He lives we can face today and tomorrow. Your photo is a wonderfully concrete reminder of this as others have already said.
Wonderful thoughts....and so very true! I, too, visited the cemetery today...a friend's grave who lost his short fight with cancer in January....while driving through I had the same thoughts as you....there are some beautiful monuments out there. I guess I normally don't take the time to really look. Thanks for sharing this powerful pic and the message along with it!!
Very beatuiful shot. And I can see why you would have to stop and reflect on its meaning. Seems our religions run across the same lines. The way things are going in the world today, really makes you think even more about it. Or at least, I do. Hope you are feeling better.
I fully agree and know what you know to be true. This is so touching. Makes my heart sad YET glad as well knowing that He lives!! Thank you for sharing this, Rick.
Isn't it wonderful how the community responded to this moving photo and your heartfelt caption?! The whole belief in the resurection is the basis for my faith.
The Photo and the Sentiments are equally beautiful.....
