I feel like I lost a whole day. I had a bad muscle spasm in my lower back yesterday morning. Initially wasn't sure what it was, but it was not a pleasurable experience. My physician could not totally rule out a kidney stone, but he feels it was most likely a muscle spasm. He prescribed some strong anti-inflammatory medications and a muscle relaxant. Took those yesterday at about 1pm and just woke up, 12 hours later. I am not one to be taking a lot of medication, especially pain meds that make me lose sense of who I am. I have been instructed to rest for a few days, so that is going to be tough, but I need to get those muscles to calm down. So I guess I will be looking for things around the house to photograph.
ouch, ouch and ouch. Had a bad back for over 20 yrs and this Feb had surgery, best thing I ever did....I never took drugs for my back, they never worked. Hoping your back gets better real soon.
Very nice clock also.
oh, i'm so sorry! my husband has had back issues (including severe muscle spasms at times) and it is truly miserable. i hope you are feeling better after all that rest; if it gave your back a chance to mend, that time you were sleeping is well-spent!!
take a rest rick and you can apply ice at your back for 10 minutes untill tomorrow as what im doing to my patients and have some exercises as well. Take care. :)
Hey, poor you... hope you can take the rest that will help. Thinking of you and love your comments on photographs.
That's some clock!
From Wikipedia....
"Seth Thomas (1785 – 1859) was a famous 19th century American clock maker and a pioneer of mass production.
Thomas was born in Wolcott, Connecticut, in 1785. He started in the clock business in 1807, working for clockmaker Eli Terry. In 1810, he bought Terry's clock business though chose to sell his partnership in 1812, moving in 1813 to Plymouth Hollow, Connecticut, where he set up a factory to make metal-movement clocks. In 1875 the town was renamed Thomaston in Thomas' memory."
And there's lots more interesting stuff in the article.
Get well soon.
I can relate (kind of) it's nearly been two weeks in hosp already and it all seems like so much precious time lost. Know that I am praying for you and your recent health problems. Blessings..
This is one of those captions that gives us a strong "in the moment" connection to a community member and how we come to feel we know one another through those stories. Your clock and "lost time" seems a valid visual for all you wrote...I certainly hope you'll be feeling better soon! So good that you have the weekend to rest!
This is a handsome clock. I am so sorry about your back pain. I have lived with chronic back pain for the last 16 years so my empathy for you is genuine and heart felt. I find "Skelaxin" to be a good muscle relaxer that does not "zook you out".
i hope you feel better soon!
the lost sense of time is something i totally resonate with right now... i knew this day was coming but it still snuck up on me somehow...
