The other morning on my way to work I took several photos. It was misty, and especially over this one creek that I frequently visit. I realize it was taken on Friday, but I hated to see it go to waste, so I decided to use it for today's photo. Fall is such a beautiful time of the year, and as photographers, most of us enjoy capturing those breathtaking photos of the vivid Fall colors. I am always amazed at how our Creator has worked it all out, making the end of the season so beautiful. When you think of something coming to the end of its life cycle, it is usually sad, but when it is presented in such beauty, it makes the end a little less depressing and sad. Perhaps for those of us who hold to a faith in a loving creator, it can be a lesson. The hope that there is also something just as beautiful for us when our life's cycle comes to its end. The beginning of yet one final, eternal chapter in our life. I like to believe that if He was able to create something of such beauty here on Earth, what is it going to be like once we leave this world? While we are privileged to remain, we have the luxury of enjoying the beautiy of His handiwork.
i've missed seeing your shots and reading your well-worded commentaries--but i'm trying to get caught up!
this is absolutely beautiful. i agree with carla, it is breath-taking. and i truly love the words you've written. fall is my favorite time of year, although it is a little melancholy. you've said it so well, about how God makes the 'end' of the cycle so beautiful. a fav.
Beautiful image!! A fav. And I can so appreciate your sentiments about God and can honestly say that through this photography project I've been enjoying the beauty of His creation in so many ways that I haven't before.
This photo reminds me of my aunt who died earlier this year of a broken heart, just two months after her losing her beloved husband. One of her favorite verses of scripture was:
Hebrews 12:1-2 “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
This is stunning, Rick!! I had to FAV it. I also saw it on the top 20. Congratulations. I hope you are going to frame a large print of it.
There's a mood to it that makes me want ot look at it over and over again.
