Among some of the items I enjoy collecting, I have several old cast iron figures and animals. This is a cast iron horse I have standing on my shelf at work. I like the texture and I think the detail is quite good on this guy. I think it is aging well. A little rust at spots where the paint is wearing thin, but I hate to disrupt its aging beauty.
How big is this horse? I can remember my sister had some as she was nuts about horses. They were pretty small - maybe 3 inches high. What marvelous collections you have. Ah, the memories!
When my daughter was very little and people would ask her what she wanted to be when she grew up, she'd always say, "a horse." She had a large collection of horses, OF COURSE. Your photo is wonderful, lots of texture.
This is really great! I used to collect Breyer horse figurines, and I have a leather one in my room, but I've never seen an iron one. It's really neat! (:

How beautiful! You know, you just reminded me that my mom has a little bronze horse statue. I used to love that thing when I was little! I'll have to go see if she still has it.
