Well, yesterday my Wife informed me she wanted to buy some sandals now that it was finally warmer. You must understand, when my wife has a mission, I have a mission, and there is no way of getting around it. Let me tell you, she even knew where she wanted to buy them, but we had to find the nearest location. Well, that was easy enough. We found the spot. We walked in and it was like she was in Heaven. She tried on several pair, my Son and I went outside for some air. That was my first mistake. We came back in, and in that short time she had found two pair. That salesperson was good, and so was my Wife. Both pair were very nice, I must admit. My wife looked at me with her look, and said, "They both feel so comfortable, but this pair is Heaven, and they are good for walking. They are called the Wave." I said, "Well then, we found we we came for. She smiled again with her look, and said, "This pair will hurt a bit more." Like any good husband, I said, "Hey, if you like them, I'm ok with it. How much will it hurt?" (cough..cough..cough..choke..choke) Well, one good thing, my wife is not hard on shoes. My Son and Grandkids were along, so now after we paid for the sandals we were in the parking lot trying to decide what we wanted to do next. That's when Destiny said, I have an idea. I have a formal dance coming up, and I need to find a dress. So we are now on another mission. After a few hours of shopping a few hundred stores, maybe a slight exaggeration, we were unsuccessful. So at our last mall visit I spotted a little shop that offered Chinese Massages. $1 a minute for a chair or table massage. I stopped and looked at the different styles. My Wife said with all the kindness in her heart, "Would you like one?" Just then the massage therapist came over and wisked me off my feet. In no time I was on the chair, and I received the best 10 minute chair massage I had ever experienced. Let me tell you, she knew how to dig in deep. At one point it actually hurt, but yet it felt good. After she finished she said, "More?" I responded, "If I had anymore I wouldn't be able to drive home." Oh there are rewards for being a good Husband and Grandpa. Have a great night.
Such a good husband and grandpa. :) Great collage, too. Happy your wife found the shoes she wanted - too bad your granddaughter didn't find her dress. I've never tried one of those massage chairs - never believed they worked. Guess I am now informed. Great job, Rick. Thanks for sharing.
@digitalrn duhhh...I see that now. I didn't read closely enough or I would have known that. I don't think we have parlors in our malls or at least I've not seen one. I feel so stupid. :) I think maybe I was too interested in the shoes!!! You know, it's a woman thing. :)
Great collage to capture your day! You certainly deserved that massage. I can't believe how many husbands on 365 patiently take their wives shopping. It really cracks me up. My sweetie could take lessons from you and Sara's Dad.
You are good! I can see the halo shining all the way in the Poconos! God bless you Rick- I know when my husband helps with even something as mundane as the food shopping I feel blessed! Sounds like you had some great family time too. Love the collage to capture the day.
Oh boy, when you go shopping with a woman you can really call it a mission. I thought you were going to say "how much it will cost?"
it is so funny but I never had a massage in my whole life, I mean I had it but not professional. So continued being the good husband and grandpa!
him him
I like the ones on the right but the ones on the left look so comfy! I think I need to go shopping - but NEVER with my husband as I would come home empty handed!
Ah, you're a good and patient man Rick....so glad you were rewarded for your effort! My husband could use a few pointers from you....he's not terribly patient when it comes to shopping!! :)
Well almost all of you got what you came for..for you a surprise..so next time send the wift and granddaughter shopping while you wait for them in a massage chair. I sit in one where the chair does the work while I get a pedicure and my nails done.
lol, it is that time of year, and those look like super comfy strolling sandals, so I imagine there will be some long walks and holding hands in your summer plans. :)
Love your story, Rick! Love the sandals and am thinking I need some of those. It's good to take care of your feet. Any, it's good that you took care of yourself with a massage. I am soooo jealous. Love the good hurt! :) Nice collage.
Great shots and beautiful sandals :-) We're the opposite here - my husband loves to shop and he always wants the most expensive. I'm not as nice as you tho and will always talk him into something less expensive - lol.
Came across your site by accident & loved your story but was most amazed to see our CLARKS shoe shop sign , I had no idea this old British make of shoe had shops in America !!
it is so funny but I never had a massage in my whole life, I mean I had it but not professional. So continued being the good husband and grandpa!
