My Grand-daughter wanted to go fishing, so this morning the two of us did just that. We were only out about an hour and a half, but it was fun. We each caught one, so the trip was a success. Kassidy loves to go fishing, but she does not do worms, and she does not remove fish from the hook. The bugs were a bit pesty, and Kassidy does not like bugs either. While we were sitting by the water she said, "Grandpa, there's a fish." I saw something moving around, and yes, it was a fish, but the fish was in the mouth of a snake, pictured in the lower right corner. Did I fail to mention, she DOES NOT like snakes either. She kept her eyes on the shoreline, thinking for sure it was going to make its way back. After fighting off the bugs for a while, she was ready to pack up. We packed up, and all the while walking back to the car, she was busy trying to chase away the bugs. At one point she wasn't watching where she was going, and when she swatted after the bugs she stabbed me in the back with her rod, and when I turned the rod tapped me on the side of the head. I joked with her and said, "Well, if I survive the walk back to the car, we will soon be away from the bugs, but you must stop beating Grandpa." She giggled. Have a nice night everyone.
That's too funny! It cracks me up when kids really want to go do something but absolutely hate everything surrounding it. It sounds like you both had a good time despite all the various icky things. ;-)
hahaha! i love your story!! She seems like such a sweet gurl. Even tho so many things bothered, she still enjoyed the fishing part of it and being out with granpa...that is so special!! Looks like a wonderful and peaceful place to sit and fish!!.....besides the fish and bugs :) haha. Great collage!

Sounds like she's a girl after my own heart... I used to fish with my dad but he had to do the dirty, icky stuff - hooks, bait, taking the fish off and I really hate bugs, too! Great grandpa story and collage!
I think what Kassidy likes is time with Grandpa! How cute (but I confess I'd be the same way with the worms and fish on the hook). Avon Skin So Soft Bath Oil is what you need for the bugs. It is better than any bug spray and doesn't harm your skin. They even make a lotion with sunscreen in it too, but the bath oil is still the best. As for the photo/collage- it's great and I hope you print it off with your story for her so she can have it as a keepsake. And - wow- a fish eating snake in the water- scary!

Kassidy reminds me of my daughter Julie, who wanted to catch a fish on our vacation, but didn't really like fishing as much as she liked spending time with her dad and boyfriend...which is the making of a future fisherwoman. I know this to be true..
