The first step is scarey, but the second step is a killer. One of the old buildings they are demolishing for the railroad overpass project. The area is looking so different with all the buildings coming down. This old building sat empty for many years, and I always thought it would be neat to be able to explore the dark and spooky interior to see what remained of its history, maybe even find a few ghosts still lingering around. Currently it is about half way demolished, and the way the demolision crew left it makes you wonder if they might be allowing any of the possible remaining ghosts to find another place of residence before the entire building is gone.
When I saw it first without reading your story here I though oh my that looks like a ghost..can you still get in to look around or is it too dangerous..woudn't want to step out of an open door like the one above.
@bruni Bruni, no it is all off limits. Even before it was being demolished, they ahd it padlocked, but something tells me there were those who managed to get inside.
OMG...super shot...and aren't you the clever one!!! Well, even if that ghost takes the first step out the door, since she(?) is a ghost I think she will not get hurt...being all air and maybe a bit of a sheet and all!
hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!! That is so clever. Now I took a shot of a door with a big step, but it was occupied so I didn't catch any ghosts. You are soooo lucky! At first I thought, "What is that person trying to do, kill themselves?" Then I looked at it in the large size and couldn't stop laughing! Seriously- it would be fun to explore a building like this if it was safe. I saw a show on Discovery Channel once about two photographers who go around the world photographing old factories. It looked pretty adventurous. Great shot Rick-a fav!!
@allie912 Allison, what would you say if I told you, no, that is what appered when I uploaded it to the computer? No just kidding. I always thought it would be neat to explore the interior, and thinking of all the history that has been locked up inside of that building through the yers, I had fun in picnick with the Halloween effects.

You are capturing your history very well. I like this shot. In the thumbnail, I really thought it was someone in the doorway and I was thinking, "that's really high." Very cool effect there! :-)
@clarissajohal Clarissa, I couldn't believe tht she showed up when I uploaded it, really freaked me out! No just kidding. I played around in Picnik, the Halloween effects helped.
I thought I commented on this the other night. Maybe I was too freaked out. It WAS pretty late and your ghost gave me the heeby-jeebies. It's not so scary now in the light of day (thankfully). Interesting shot and I hope you're wrong about giving the ghosts time to find another "home." I think they are fine exactly where they are ... far away from me. :~O
