I wanted to get at least one entry in for this week's theme, so I was playing around a bit tonight, yes, I like to play even at my age. I wasn't too impressed with my eye shots, but then when I started editing and playing around with the different textures, I came across this one that I thought truly represented the time I have been spending with my sibblings the last couple of weeks. For the past two weeks, all the sibblings in my family have been spending time at Dad's house sharing stories, and reliving so many of the good times we had as a family. As we gathered together we went through the things he had accumulated over the years, even since Momn's passing 12 years ago, pictures, items that belonged to his Parents, things we had bought them throughout the years, wow, the walls were talking, and we sensed a strong family bond between us all, and you know, I believe we may have even sensed the presence of Mom and Dad. For sure they were in our hearts as we shared together. Their memories permeated the home, and I think Mom and Dad are at peace knowing all the kids are doing great. Have a great evening and a great Thursday everyone.
So good Rick
So true too. I felt the same when we were going through my Mum's house after she passed away. It's a presence & it's all good. I think it's great to reminisce. I know we had lots of laughs & tears - good therapy :)
What a great proccesing..your picture is awesome. It must be wonderful to have that family bond, all of you sharing your memories of your Mom and Dad in their home. both my parents died while I was abroad. my Mom shortly after I immigrated to Chicago and my Dad 36 years later. unfortunately we were never a close family not even when all three of us children were still living at home.
The photo is fantastic...and yes, it speaks. This seems like a good healing time for you and your siblings. It's a blessing to have such good memories.
Fabulous photo, love the story. See, they really don't ever die, do they. This island reminds me of my father every day, he's never left, and so many people talk about his tall tales and laugh--it makes me feel great.
You are blessed with siblings who are not fighting over the things left behind. I wish I could say the same. Not about my siblings but other people. You have good memories to share. :-)
well your words and how you feel sure go so well with your photo! a great editing job you did, and i am glad you and your family are "reliving" happy memories as you go through some old belongings!!
This is a fantastic edit! I'm very impressed. And I really love your message too. Families are so important and sibling relationships are the best. I adore my three brothers.
Rick this is just wonderful. Your words and shots are always inspiring.
So....how's the writing going. I'm waiting to pick a copy of your book up at the book store one day. :-)
@maggie2 Margaret, it was going pretty well, I was organizing photos, getting some of my notes and previous writings together, and then when Dad passed away, it kind of forced me to take another route for awhile, but I do plan to get back at it. There is so much to capture. Thanks for asking.
Your caption is so touching. There are so many stories of families being divided after a loved one dies, due to the bickering of who will get what. Your family brings a breath of fresh air. It's great that you all have grown closer during such a sad time. You can't take it with you when you're gone, but memories live on forever. Cheers to you and yours and to adding many more memories.
Your story with the picture is just PERFECT!!! Yes, the walls are talking and sharing such wonderful stories! I'm glad your family is having this special time together!! It is a gift!
Wonderful image for such a nice story. I am ever thankful for my family and how we treasure one another. Sounds like you have a terrific family as well, cherish the memories indeed!
