That Kind Of Day by digitalrn

That Kind Of Day

You ever have those days where you just want to relax and do nothing? Well, today was one of those days, and I do not feel guilty about it. Yesterday we had a wonderful day, spending time with my Wife's side of the family, and the weather was great. The Grand-daughter was here for the weekend, and this morning after Church, a small group of us went out for lunch. Then this afternoon, my Wife took Kassidy shopping, and bought her a few outfits for her birthday, which is on Wednesday. She will be 9 years old already. While they were shopping I took a nap, then sat out on the porch with the puppies, just relaxing, and thinking about things. There were so many things running through my mind. You know how it is. I was thinking about the upcoming work week and the things I need to do, I was thinking about my photo project, my writing project, both have been sitting idle for a little while. There are things I need to do around the house, then I began thinking about our Daughter who has been away for 3 years, and if everything goes right, she should be coming home around February or March. Then I heard the thunder getting closer, and it wasn't long until it began raining. Yes, it was "That Kind Of Day" and nothing was accomplished, but I am ok with that. Hope your weekend was relaxing too. Get ready for a new week.
Relaxing is the best way to spend a Sunday! Cool b&w!

How could you take a nap with all that going around in your mind? I love your words...they always hit a chord somewhere within me. You are a very remarkable person.
August 22nd, 2011
We all need time to recharge our batteries. In fact the Bible tells us to take Sunday as a day of rest. Tomorrow is time enough to tackle all those things you were turning over in your mind.
August 22nd, 2011
Love your composition. I need one of those days soon. Sometimes the weekends are just too busy, fun but busy. Glad you had a little reflection time with yourself. It's a very good thing.

Aaah, yes, the 'Nothing-Kinda-Sunday'... we all have them once in a while. Mine was forced upon me yesterday as it poured rain all day; and my laundry was left in its basket yet again for another day.
Today, I am unable to do it either as the weather is so unstable again. They say it's going to be cold and wet until the end of the week. Looks like I'll have to get out the indoor clothes horse and do small loads as I need them. Darn. :(

Hope your week turns out better than mine. :)

Sounds like a wonderful day! I like the image of your arm at rest. What a nice time to sit and reflect.

Rick I just LOVE photos that tell a story, that draw you in and say a lot. Yours does all of this. Without you saying a word I already knew a lot of what your weekend was about. I just love this. A fav!!!!!! Truly MY favorite kind of shot. Well done.

August 22nd, 2011
BTW. if you don't mind sharing, what is your writing project? I'm working on a book, which may, or may not, be done sometime this year. :)
August 22nd, 2011
The days that we "do nothing" after a busy week or before one starts are usually the days that refresh us and help us to have the energy to tackle all those tasks. I'm glad you enjoyed your day of rest. I think most of us would say you deserved it!
August 22nd, 2011
Wow!!! I really like this.............. makes me kinda jealous!! lol :-)

August 22nd, 2011
I did the same thing today. I even over slept and didn't make it to church! (I hate when that happens) The relaxing part is good. Come to think of it, that's the idea of Sabbath day :)
August 22nd, 2011
great capture of relaxation, lovely composition - and yes, it's good to just wind down
August 22nd, 2011
Nice detail in b&w!
August 22nd, 2011
We should all just slow down & chill out . Sitting & thinking about our lives & the way things are going would perhaps stop us jumping into silly things we haven't thought through properly !! You sound a calm man to be around !
August 22nd, 2011
love the feel of this
August 22nd, 2011
@nana Nancy, nothing spectacular, but it is a collection of my thoughts about life and various situations I've been through, and trhen I am doing a huge family photo book related to our history.

I have to disagree my friend. I think you got a lot accomplished. You recharged your batteries, you cleared your head for some planning for your week. You needed a day like that. Good shot for your message. My prayers are still with your daughter.
