It was another busy day, but productive. On my way home I wanted to stop by one of the creeks that I love to photograph in the Winter time. In spite of the rain we've been having, the creek was a little lower than normal. The water is usually running much faster, but it still provided a beautiul setting. I found a nice rock along the bank that served as a perch, then I set up my camera with the timer, and slowed down the shutter. I tried a few shots in color, but the sun was fairly bright on the opposite bank. I wasn't pleased with the photos. The colors seemed too washed out, so I tried a few shots in B/W, and I loved how the sun highlighted the shrubs on the other side. It almost appears as though it was shot in infared. After taking a few shots I packed up my camera and just sat there listening to the water running over the rocks. As I watched the water, and listened to the peaceful flow of the water, an intense peace came over me. It was so relaxing, and refreshing to my Spirit. I could have sat there for an hour. I hope you all had a wonderful day.
I totally understand about the water bringing you peace. It does the same for me. Ready for a funny question? What sign are you? I'm an Aries and I think I'm a misplaced Aquarian because I love water so much. Maybe you are, too. :)
It looks so peaceful. Wonderful capture. I did think it was infrared when I first looked at it. It looks amazing in the b&w, like you said with those trees lit up. Really nice Rick.
@digitalrn I quit one job and now I work and take 3 months off during the summer. Believe me, you will be just as busy retired and wonder how you got anything done when you worked. LOL
lovely peaceful looking place, great soothing powers in sitting by a river or street - I miss running water where I live now, it's miles to the nearest streams and rivers
Serene photo....I love to sit and watch water, too, but I always wish I had a chair or a pillow with me as those rocks get kind of hard! Love the lighting on the trees.
PS thank you for taking the time to comment on my granddaughter's photos. She gets so excited when people post...she is only 6 but I love watching her take pictures and seeing things through her eyes. You are so kind.
Its a fantastic picture ..love the way the sun shines on the shrubs. peaceful places like that aren't easy to find., that's why I like our lake so much. I could sit there forever listening to the flow of the water. sometimes a bird might fly across the bay or ducks swimming by. we have so many parks along the lake so all the residences on the sidestreets have deeded access to the beach. your pictures is a fav.
Very nice...and there sure is something soothing about sitting near a body of water...no matter if it is a river or lake or ocean...it seems to naturally have a calming effect. Glad you made a little time for this in your day.
Rick, did you happen to notice that the rock close to the trees looks like a huge fish jumping out of the water. Or maybe I have had to much strong coffee tonight lol.
Yes I see that Rock looks like a shark and even has an eye on our Photographer. :-) Places like this, so peaceful and easy to sit beside are getting harder to find in some countries, too much animosity and too many willing and ready to get drunk and into fighting or bashing someone. So I am real happy that you have this one in your sight Rick but be wary of that Shark, though he looks like he has something in his mouth in this picture.
This is breathtaking Rick. I love the flow of the water over the rocks and the light on the shrubs. A great capture. I am glad you had a wonderful day. :)
Yes! I had a wonderful day :) thank you.
