Windows Of The Soul by digitalrn

Windows Of The Soul

There's an old proverb that says, your eyes are the window to your soul. Our eyes speak more clearly than we realize. Our eyes convey meaning, what is going on in our heart. When you look into a person's eyes you can sense whether they are sincere, compassionate, judgmental or critical. Is their smile sincere? If someone smiles sincerely, their eyes smile too. What do our eyes say to others? We truly cannot hide our true feelings that well. They come out in some way. Our eyes are the best windows to our heart, and soul.
Awesome shot!!! I posted a photo of my eyes last year and wrote something similar...windows to my soul.

A long time ago I took an adult education photography class and I remember the teacher saying you could really tell what was going on in a person if you covered half the face (vertically) and looked at the eye. It's interesting, but it works most of the time. Same thing in sports, if you want to know what your opponent is planning to do, look at their eyes. They truly are windows to what is going on inside of us. Well said Rick!

Strong capture and processing. You are so right about our eyes. What strikes me is that it is difficult for many people to look into your eyes when they are talking to you.

Wonderful processing to make your point. Have you noticed that your eyes also are a good indicator of your physical condition. I always knew when my kids were really sick by looking at their eyes.

I love this one, Rick - both the photo (super cool processing) and the thoughts. I agree you can tell so much from a person's eyes. Did you process this in picnik? I'm trying to learn how to do more, but failing miserably.
September 1st, 2011
@lauriehiggins Laurie, yes, I used picnik
September 1st, 2011

September 2nd, 2011

September 2nd, 2011
It's a Fav Rick, and I was always going to do a photo of my eyes or someones if I got the chance for the very reason you did. Love this one from you.
September 2nd, 2011
Wow Rick, this is an awesome shot - so true about one's eyes, it's all there for people to see.

I will have to play around in picnik.
September 3rd, 2011
Very creative...love how the glasses frames can be the window frames in the wall. And it is so true, I can so easily tell when some one smiles but their eyes do not. I always wonder if they suspect that others can see that they are not really smiling? And then when I am depressed, when I smile, it feels just like that...it never makes it up to my eyes. Very nice phot and thanks for sharing the sentiment.
September 3rd, 2011
