As some of you know, I have been on a weight loss journey that began in June of this year. I have been doing 30 day challenges, weighing in on the 20th of each month. My initial goal was 40 pounds. I have not weighed in this month yet, but up until now I have lost a total of 45 pounds. It has been a great journey so far, and I am going to continue till the end of the year to see how much I can lose. I have totally changed the way I eat, and it has really made a big difference. Some of you have asked to see before and after photos, so here they are. I must say, my knees feel so much better. Thank you all for your kind words and support.
You look great! It definately feels good when we can see results of our personal goals especially when we really have to work at them. Congratulations! I think you looked fine before but I do understand how we see things about ourselves others do not. :-)
Congratulations Rick. That takes real determination and hard work. It is very hard to shed those pounds at our age....they just do not want to come off without some real sacrifice. I get hungry just thinking about it. :) I bet your wife is pretty impressed with the new you!
Congratulations Rick! Your hard work is really paying off. I know for me it will be a longer journey because of my arthritis, but already I do feel the benefits of my swimming in my joints. I don't know if I would be brave enough to do the photograph as you did, but it sure does show how your determination paid off! Great collage- you've inspired me to keep on keepin' on!
Rick...congratulations. I think you looked excellent with or without the weight, but what a nice bonus to feel better and have your knees better. Excellent accomplishment.
You look (& I bet feel as well) amazing Rick! Weight loss tops one of the many challenges to face, and you've done excellently well to get to the stage you're at right now! Big congratulations :D
Do I understand correctly? Did you manage to lose 45 lbs in 4/5 months? That's a great feat. How did you do it????? Congratulations. The collage is very beautiful, Rick.
Well done, Rick. The hardest part is the continuation and to not let it slip, which we all know is easy to do. You look healthy and content and that's always a good sign, but I have to say, you do look like you've lost a bit of colour in the September shot. ;)
Congrats Rick! I know about life-style changes. Lost 80+ lbs. 20 yrs ago, and have kept all but 5lbs off to date. Keep at it, your on the right track :)
So nice to see the changes in your pictures..you deserve a star next to each picture. I know how hard it is to loose the weight..but I find it even harder to keep it off. so keep at it Rick. it's so much better for your health especially your knees.
@clarissajohal@sabresun Clarissa, I guess it could be compared to weight watchers, though it is my own personal idea of cutting out most fried foods, cutting back on carbs and all the good deserts. I do eat more salads now, and also have increased my fruit intake. I do not do well following a diet plan so top speak. Matt, you got me on that one. I had to go back and check out my September photo as I thought perhaps since I hadn't been getting out as much due to my schedule, I thought perhaps I did grow a little pale, then I saw September was the B/W version, LOL. Good one.
Congrats for losing all that weight!
Such a good collage - your transformation is wonderful, you look great.
I fell by the wayside, but am up and running again
