With 2012 already moving into its third day, our journey has already begun. While I was out today on a brief walk, I looked into the woods and this reminded me of what many of our journies will be like. As we move forward in this New Year, most of us have an idea where we are going, or at least we have a direction in mind. As we move forward, we can expect to come face to face with obstacles, and these need to be overcome, but as many of us have done before, we will overcome them, and keep moving forward. I am looking forward to an exciting year. Tomorrow it is back to work, and I have no idea what to expect when I return, but it is part of my journey, and I will overcome whatever it is that awaits me, after my cup of coffee of course. For those returning to work tomorrow, I hope you have a great day.
I do return to work tomorrow. It has been fun being to be here a little bit more than usual. I always love your words Rick, you are very wise and this photo is beautiful.
Belated Merry Christmas and Happiest New Year to you Rick! I am so sorry I missed a lot of your wonderful photos. I have been busy helping friends and family devastated by the flood here in our country. so many heartbreaking stories...I decided not to take photos about the flood for some very personal reasons. I wish you and your family the best always.
This has quite a sombre feel to it. I think those trees are in mourning for the stump of their dear friend. I think we always leave some things behind in the old year, metaphorically and physically and yet life goes on. That sounds a bit morbid, but it's not meant to be, it's meant to be reflective.
@daveanajao Dave, so sorry to hear about all the hardships, and it must have been a devastating experience. I too well remember our experience this Fall with our flooding where many lost it all. It is terrible. Glad to hear you are ok.
beautiful woodland shot, the b&w really lets you concentrate on the patterns the branches make - good luck going back to work, hope it's not too traumatic
great shot.. this picture reminds me of - you never really know what you're looking forward to, until you go head deep, i'm not to sure why it popped into my head like that, but i love this capture.. you do amazing captures
I do hope your first day back at work in 2012 is not too stressful.
Take care.
