To us it's a symbol of freedom, a history of selfless sacrifice, and a willingness to stand up and defend what it stands for, no matter what the cost. Through the years many have given their lives for what they believed in, and for what they believed was important for those who would come after them. We have what we have today because of what this flag represents. I personally think it's destestable to see those who have a disregard for their Country's flag, yet these same individuals will selfishly sit by and enjoy their freedom without any regard for the ones who died so they could live their selfish life the way they want. I would gladly defend this flag, and I think you will find the same sentiment from families who have lost their Spouse or Children defending this symbol. It's worth fighting for, and I am proud to be an American, and everyone should be proud of their home no matter where you live.
Love this shot! When I was shopping with my sister-in-law yesterday she told me that if her husband complains about how much she spends when shopping she just says "I'm stimulating the economy. Followed by "What's wrong with you, don't you love this country?" Cracked me up.
Aside from the Absolute Quality of this Photograph... Sorry Rick... You know Me... Got to do it... And This is NOT a Joke.... My FAVORITE... Anybody Disagree... ( Spit-Spit ) The line Starts Here... Step right up...
Salute! Beautifully said! I would stand up and fight and I will always be proud to be an American! If everyone could just get along and learn from each other like we do in 365 - the world would be a better place.
Gotta fave this one! The richness of the colors and your composition of this beautiful image are so perfectly matched to your sentiments. I too am proud to be an American and I love well cared for flags. My grandfather was a WWII vet who taught me how to care for a flag and it always dismays me to see tattered flags left out in all weather. I don't know if you check notifications, but I wanted to thank you for your words on my praying hands. I agree with you completely.
A wonderful shot. I feel for your words too. I love my country and I love the fact that we can safely say so with conviction and not be persecuted for it. The freedom to speak is the most valuable freedom. Fortunately our freedoms are still respected in the UK too.
