A hilltop view of my hometown, Myerstown, Pa, looking North. Actually our home was located on Hilltop Road. I grew up here, not right in town, but North of this view. If you look between the two steeples, we lived up on the hill. Now you can understand why I love the country. I love this view. It is a small country town with a great deal of history, and so many memories.
The two white steeples really stand out. I can see why you love this view so much, Rick, and how it holds a place in your heart. It all looks very settled.
This is really a beautiful shot - When I look at shots like this I know there are so many stories that could be told about the area. I can see why you love the country too.
Beautiful view. I love going to my small hometown in NY and just soaking up all the memories that come every time you look at something you remember. Or even when you see something completely new, you remember how it was and what has changed. The house my best friend from junior high lived in is now a Bed and Breakfast. The last time I was "home" for my 20th high school reunion, I stayed in the room that was her old bedroom. I told the new owners that we used to smoke cigarettes with our heads hanging out the window when we were 16 or 17. Thanks for taking me down memory lane. LOL
This is so gorgeous, Rick! It was an instant fave for me. The black and white is perfect for this subject and I love your composition. Yes, I sure can see why you love it and your photos of where you live are always so beautiful. I'm a country/small town girl too. I can't even imagine living in a city.
I like the B&W on this.
