I sat on the porch and watched this guy. I now understand why this birdfeeder needs to be filled every day. This guy was going crazy. With each piece he picked up, several pieces flew through the air. There were a few sparrows on the ground, so I assumed he was sharing his meal.
Picky little guy! It's amazing what those seed look like when they aren't eaten off of the ground and "grow up!" We always had a bunch of weedy looking stuff under the feeder! This is such a cute capture ,.. I love the flying seeds and the colors.
He's just picking out the things he likes - my kids do when I make stir-fry! Thank goodness for mourning doves and sparrows that so willingly clean up the mess below.

Well Rick that's the same at our feeders..usually the morning doves eat from the ground and of course the squirrels have some of it too.. is this a goldfinch? beautiful.
