This is a brief shot of my drive home every day. Open country roads take me home as I travel the quiet roadways between fields of corn, wheat, or tree lined roads. On a day like today the view is often quite refreshing, and with temperatures down to the mid 70's it is so nice to drive with the windows open. A wonderful reminder why I love the country.
LOL, I posted my drive home today, too, and it's the opposite of yours -- a city traffic jam bumper to bumper! Somehow I like your picture MUCH better. :) Seriously, love the color tones, the sky, the sense of tranquility.
I love slice of life photos like this one. Brian's comment above has put that song firmly in my head now. Take me home...country roads, indeed. I've thought about taking a road shot for a while. You would be surprised by how different my view is - very closed in, like a tunnel. I love the wide open world of your's.
Great shot! I love the colors and the lines of the road and telephone/power lines. Aside from the corn, it could have been taken in my "neighborhood!" :)
I would love to commute like that! I have lived in cities since 1969 and still hate them. Was on a farm till my mid 20's and my heart is still in the countryside
This is a lovely drive home, Rick. I'm with the others that began singing John Denver's classic tune when they read your caption. Here, in Hawaii, we have the late, great Israel Kamakawiwaole's interpretation of that song... "Mt Ka'ala, West Makaha, take me home, country roads". You gotta' hear it to appreciate it. ;o) Beautiful shot, Rick.
Very pretty- but then I love the farmlands in the Lehigh Valley. The drive around here is pretty too with our sun-dappled tree-lined roads, but I prefer the wide-open farm country or the coastlands. Nice shot.
