Peace In The Mist by digitalrn

Peace In The Mist

When I saw this I immediately liked the view. The early evening fog was settling in, and I thought it provided a perfect background for this peaceful looking spot. If it wasn't so damp and chilly, I could have sat there for awhile, just taking in the surroundings. Hope you have a wonderful evening.
Rick this shot is awesome. The B&W really adds to it. FAV

Beautiful b&w. Great perspective.
January 18th, 2012
Looks like a great place to sit and read a book. But not tonight, the wind's blowing and it's raining. fav
January 18th, 2012
Beautiful-love the idea of sitting there in the fog.

I love this shot! It is so peaceful looking. It is a fav!

Beautiful shot, Rick . . I love the mist. This bench looks so beautiful next to that little tree. Peaceful feeling.
January 18th, 2012
Perfect title for your great shot!
January 18th, 2012
Peaceful and possibly romantic.... Maybe a new spot for you and your wife? :D

Sue
what a great spot. You captured it nicely.

I'd like to see this shot in colour too, Rick. It looks a bit bleak in b/w to be honest. I'm sure it was much more inviting at the time. Somehow, that sparsely leafed tree against the grey water feels lonely with the empty bench. Just my 2 cents.

Love the look of this on lots of levels. Looks like a great place to sit and write in a journal. fav
January 18th, 2012
@sabresun Matt, I redid the photo to include both the B/W and the color version. When they are side by side I do like the color version, and it does give it more depth.
January 18th, 2012
@hellcat That's a nice thought :)
January 18th, 2012
@boycotting thanks Justin.
January 18th, 2012
@bk12racing Thanks Mike.
January 18th, 2012
Beautiful! I like them both but I'm partial to color, I guess. :) Though, I love B&W, too.
January 18th, 2012
peaceful. beautiful!
January 18th, 2012
@digitalrn Ahh, now you see the warmth of the wood on the bench. I do like what you've done there, Rick.
January 18th, 2012
@sabresun btw I didn't know it was possible to change the picture without losing all the comments. Is that a function of being an 'ace' member? If so, I might go ace as I have terrible hassle sometimes putting up various shots to see what they look like before deciding on a final one.
January 18th, 2012
I like the color version best. :0)
January 18th, 2012
Amazing the difference. I'm a b&w man though!!
January 18th, 2012
I love the colored version Rick! it has a delicate feel to it.
January 18th, 2012
So peaceful. The color version has a hopeful feeling and the b&w has a reflective tone. Depends on the message you want to send which one works best. Darn good shot and a fav.
January 18th, 2012
Beautiful and serene. I think I love more the colour version.
January 18th, 2012
The colour version works pretty well for me; captivating cos I think the colours match for the leaves, bench and ground. Great shot!
January 18th, 2012
B&W for me-
January 18th, 2012
Very nice perspective. I prefer the color version - just a touch of color.

Tough call, Rick! If I hadn't already seen the b&w, I might choose the color, but I already love the b&w. The color is wonderful.
January 18th, 2012
@sabresun Yes Matt, the Ace allows this. You can edit in Picnik, and when you save it, it asks if you want to replace. Nice feature.
January 18th, 2012
What a beautiful place to sit! I like both versions, but they have a very different feel. The b&w gives a cold, damp feel, while the color version feels like a warm spring evening.
January 18th, 2012
Beautifully done.
January 18th, 2012

I like them both, but prefer the colored version. Well done!
January 18th, 2012
interesting contrast
January 18th, 2012
I love the feel of harmony in the colored version..I usually love your B/W pictures but this time I prefer the warm colors.
January 18th, 2012
Great picture! The color one is so peaceful....!
January 19th, 2012
beautful I like them both and my favorite thing to photograph is benches and you have done a beautiful job Rick
January 19th, 2012
I love the color one!!!! I know I could sit there and dream some time away! FAV - this is so well done!
January 19th, 2012
I prefer the colour version, even though it has warm tones you still get the feeling of the mist and cold.Great shot.
January 19th, 2012
Congrats on PP!!~
January 19th, 2012
I love the colour version best. I use Picnik for collages too but how do you get two photos o far apart and not exactly side by side?
January 19th, 2012
fav! I prefer the colour shot as well, such soft tones.
January 19th, 2012
Love the drama of the BW version, but the tones in the colored one are stunning!
January 20th, 2012
I don't look at the popular page much but today I thought why not. This is what I saw. Congratulations! I like them both but I like the color version better. :-)
