The Bread Lines of Our Times

January 17th, 2012
Saw this pic in The Atlantic's fantastic web feature called In Focus. Made me think that maybe this is the "Bread Line" of our Great Recession. I know so many who are out of work and struggling. Especially my friends 45 or older.

Look for pic number 13.

6 and 10 are sad. :(

@beautifulthing You are so right. Heart breaking.

There are some very powerful images there.

I started of feeling angry but changed to pity the more i looked and thought out the problems the US is in.

30 years of mismanagement and living off the back of credit are not kind to anyone.

Wow, some powerful, poignant shots there.

Very moving.

Thanks for sharing, some very emotive shots and highlights so well the stark realities of the recession.

Cops being laid off! WOO-HOO!!!!! FINALLY, the world is beginning to come to it's senses! :-) Less cops = less crime because nature abhors a vaccuum.
Anyone here feeling bad about this stuff really ought to get a handle on the Law of Attraction. Whatever is happening out there, need NOT affect you, unless you choose for it too! Go to www.thesecret.tv to learn more. In every recession, there are always people who are succeeding better than they ever have before! Why? Because they understand the Laws of the Universe! It is up to YOU to educate yourself on such matters!

@tabbycat
lol, eh? wtf?
Jehovah will give me a job if I ask him, type stuff?
January 17th, 2012
No lol, no wtf. Serious and the best thing EVER!! No Jehovah either...and not so much asking for stuff (not sure why you would ask for a job though. I wouldn't wish that kind of degradation on anyone! ..but each to their own!) it's more about feeling a confident knowing that it is already yours ("it" being whatever you want) and simply focussing on the happy, grateful feeling you get when you're anticipating your derams coming true actully draws them to you on the physical plane. Search YouTube for "Abraham Hicks" (not Christian) and listen to what they have to say. They TOTALLY changed my life for the better!! :-)

@tabbycat Having visited the website, I respectfully disagree with some of the larger points of "The Secret." The children I teach who are homeless and abused did not create their situations with a feeling, or lack there of.
January 17th, 2012
@smapp Disagree heartily! ..and you are not living their lives so how could you know why they would choose what they choose? Maybe the soul of the four year old who gets raped chose that experience to teach her parents about forgiveness...??
January 17th, 2012
@tabbycat What? 4 year old chooses to be raped? At this point we should just cease this discussion and agree to disagree.

@smapp If you have no knowledge of the metaphysical world, I can understand how you would feel that way, but when you learn to think differently, lose the anger and the victim mentality, THEN, my friend you are in a position of power to change the world for the better!! ..but it's going along just fine right now as it is.
Read this. It opened my eyes to the possibility of transcending my anger about the world at large... http://www.sapphyr.net/largegems/littlesoul-thesun.htm

Its as old as the hills man, its very nineteenth century to believe it's all inside us, we have the power to make our destiny. Very post-Darwin. It does very well in very wealthy countries amongst middle class people who grit their teeth and hope for good things, then the good things happen. Nothing to do with the security and happiness they already exist within. Hey, if you're an African AIDs baby who's pulled your life out of the gutter with this then good on you, where do I sign up? but if you're a white, US middle class professional who finds success wherever you look...then which came first the chicken or the ridiculous post-religion belief system?
