@la_photographic Do you have twitter Laura? then follow https://twitter.com/#!/VirtualAstro he'll have all the latest info. It depends where in Ireland you are, I think I heard 55°N or further which is Edinburgh-ish, but if it's clear and there's little light pollution you my be lucky.
I will be in Belfast until about 10pm where there is quite a bit of light pollution and then in Holywood from about 10.30 / 11.00pm where there is still some light pollution but not as much.
@tiina Tiina. I will be in Iceland from Thursday 15th until Monday 19th March and was wondering what my chances of seeing the Northern Lights are then.
They will be visible at low latitudes tonight. The lowest latitude is the equator (0 latitude) - so they may be visible as far south as ireland - london - new york, etc... here's hoping.
@la_photographic Laura. I've never been there but have heard it's one of the places to go see them. I think your chances are good :) They are best if you are not surrounded by city lights. Remember to take your tripod with you :)
I took these just from my driveway last week http://www.flickr.com/photos/olivegirl/6789950276/in/photostream
They move quite fast so I think I could have tried with a little shorter exposure.
Thanks.
