I don't have direct experience, but when I was in school, I heard of several opportunities to be in a book of Who's Who. Mostly it was a way for them to get us to buy the book that had us in it. This might be a similar scheme.

I Googled it - did they ask you to pay them to publish you? And how did they contact you?

It seems they were once called Photo Laureates but people were reporting them as scammers so they shut down or something and came back as this. If they did in fact ask you for money for whatever reason, it's a scam. Always go with your gut on these things.

I would say dont do it. I did it twice ( entered the contest ) the first time i didnt buy anything but the second time i decided to get the book so that i could have proof i was getting published. when i got the book i was a little dissapointed by the print quality. It looked like it was stretched out and my picture looked wrinkly -like too much ink on a piece of paper wrinkly. Until today i thought it was merely because of the image size i had sent them. I got the book out today and pulled the pages apart. Mine is the only picture with poor image quality and though there were four photos per side of the page when i pulled the section out of the binding that my photo was in all those pages were glued together everything else was sewed in. So i now realize i am stupid and have learned my lesson and if it isnt too late for you ignore them and don't pay a cent for anything. Now i think i will throw away my book cause it means absolutely nothing to me now and actually is an insult.

Thankyou so much for your advice all of you as I was about to fall for the scam at Boulevard of photographers. I did email them to ask how they could post me a book with my photo published in it in 6 weeks when the book was the best of 2011 photographs. I also thought something was wrong when every time I tried to get onto the site it asked me to pay nearly $60 to become a member for 1 year. I am glad I did not fall for it. Thankyou Lorraine Wilkinson Jasper AB

OMG! the exact same thing happened to be, but last year. they say something in an email like "We are pleaseed to let you now that your photograp '....' has beens elected to be published (with your permission) in ur ecclaimed Best Of 2011 photography deluxe harbound anthology bla bla bla". It's a complete scam. It says bla bla bla you dont have to pay for it but it would be good if you could bla bnla bla etc. i hope i have convinced you of how scammy this is.

I just discovered boulevard...I literally just sent them some pics to review. The site says they have pros that can help me improve my work.... Are they seriously scr*win' people over? I also entered a contest they have out right now....What in the heck are they doing with my photos if they are just scamming people?
