Any flickr/tumblr uses out there as I'm toying with the idea of one of these.
Has your experience been good? Bad? Ugly? Indifferent? Are either as user friendly as each other?Would be great for any and all feedback.
I'm on Flicker. I enjoy it. Not as much feedback there as here, but I belong to a variety of groups there and enjoy posting shots to each of these groups.
I have a tumblr account, but I'm not doing much with it. I use Flickr mainly as my portfolio site. The feedback and camaraderie is lacking there compared to here, but I still like it fine. My flickr photo stream: http://www.flickr.com/photos/16410567@N02/
Flickr user here - variable feedback and views - depends on the pictures. Quite a few of us moved to Flickr 18 months or so ago from here (I've had a Flickr account for ages) and quite a few are now back here as well.
@chewyteeth it's odd - I've had a couple of shots both on Flickr and on here in the past month that have gone mad on Flickr - tens of thousands of views, which is livelier than here. There is community there, but you really have to work at it - and meets, the lot.
I've enjoyed flickr since I moved there last year. As Shanne said above - you do have to work your way into the community because it's so large. I've made some great contacts over there and am always impressed by the range of photographers.
I've had a Flickr account for years and there are lots of things I like about it. It's a great place to look for pictures of a certain style or with a specific camera or lens. The discussion threads that go with the groups for the camera or lens or technique are sometimes very good resources. I started over hear because I'd heard it was a great social community but it's funny, I just haven't figured out how to get into the social part of it here. At this point Flickr seems better at that to me but it really depends on the groups you join there. Just posting to your account but not to a group will not usually generate much response unless you have a lot of contacts. Just my opinion for what it's worth.
Well, flickr has the best image quality hands down. And it acts as more of a portfolio for your work than anything. Followers do give feedback, just not as much as on 365.
I've been on Flickr for years, 365 and flickr serve different purposes in my view so as others have said, it may not ba as social but there are so many great photographers.
I've also had a shot on here that got 33 views and 1 fav but on flickr has over 10 000 views and 130 odd favs. it's a nice confidence booster... http://www.flickr.com/photos/semjaja/
I JUST got my Flickr account all pretty and Just the way I wanted it...my Yahoo email got hacked multiple times (Unrelated, I think, from Flickr) so I closed the email address done without realizing that my Flickr account is linked with no way to unlink it...Boom Flickr account GONE!
I have decided to leave the site had a great 3 years but I have gone as far as I can, learnt some great tips and tricks, but moving to Tumblr so will be carrying on so not ending my photographer just taking it to the next level as I'm starting to get bookings for shoots and a possibility of a future job. Still on Facebook so if anyone wants to follow my journey feel free.
Not leaving just yet as I'm saving some of my pics as I lost my hard drive...

what these guys say, flickr is okay but not as lively, I tried twice with tumblr and it seemed a bit hip and young for me
And, of course, pics look better at flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/blue-spirit/
