Tethering To Computer while Shooting

April 14th, 2014
Hi There,

I have a Panasonic Lumix G1 and I was wondering if anyone knew how to tether your camera and computer together while you are shooting pictures so you can see the preview on your computer. Any ideas?

Cheers,
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

You can tether with lightroom, not sure whether it works with any camera, but assume it should. A little overview can be found here
Hope this helps in some way?

Lightroom's tethering only supports a subset of Canon, Nikon and Leica cameras:

I don't believe there's any way to tether the G1 via a cable, the camera unfortunately doesn't support this way of operating.

However, the Eye-Fi wifi-enabled SD cards do seem to be compatible with the G1, and the 'Pro' version will connect to your local wifi network and send photos to your computer or tablet within a few seconds of taking them, so that may be a possible option:

I can't remember things that happened in my 'real life' yesterday, but for some reason, even tho I have never personally been tethered (!) I remember this thread.....

Hopefully there will be some useful info there.
