Found this site a few years ago about a motorcyclist who travelled through the area surrounding Chernobyl after the nuclear reactor melt down. She has an amazing story and some haunting images of deserted towns and how nature is claiming it back.

The story is also fake, at least in part, if I remember the history of this properly. She was there with a guided tour group, not some crazyily daring adventurer wondering about on her own. I'm sure the details are on her wiki page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elena_Filatova

Well fake or not, it's still kind of interesting to see the abandoned remains of Chernobyl
