I thought it funny when today for the first time ever I got a call from my hubby to say get the camera out and start clicking, there may just be some money in it:-) He was referring to this article which I'm sure if making headlines in a few places:
If you've got 4.3m to throw around why the heck not? But I agree with Kim, better get a larger hard drive for storage of all my shots and start printing up even the ones I dislike. Someone else might want it. :)
I wonder what responses this photo would have gotten on 365 if it was posted before it went to auction with the discussion title "critique please". (o:
I don't get it! However, Peter Lik is my all-time favourite photographer. When I went into his gallery for the first time, I was completely and entirely blown away. Never have I seen photos that touched my soul like his did. Mind you, the images were absolutely MASSIVE and I felt like I walked into the image.
@mackena well that's what I was thinking before I read your post. The size of the image on the site does it no justice at all. What if it's HUGE? What if the clarity of the river is just as crystal clear when it's that big? What if all those photoshopped out people and buildings and cars can't even be detected? Was it that good of a digital feat? I could see it being worth something like that if all that were in play.
Now do I like it enough to hang it as a centerpiece in my house??
Nope.
