I went out today and decided to practice street photography... I would like anyone that either considers him/herself a veteran street photographer or anyone that really enjoys street photography to look at these photos and tell me what I did right and what I can do to improve. Constructive criticism only please. Also, please at least view the regular size by clicking on the photos and going to their page. You can comment here or on the photo page itself. If you comment on the photo page, you won't have to first say which photo you're talking about, if that makes it easier.
I don't think you could do anything to improve on your subject matter, you did great at getting what you set out to capture. The black and white seems more typical of a lot of street photograpy I see around this site, but you HAD to keep that pink lady in color or it would have lost so much of the character. I am certainly no expert and rarely do this kind of thing myself (uh I am not usually near a busy street), but I say you are off to a wonderful start keep going!
@38mm thank you for your input on the photos Jase.. getting ready to head out right now but will check out those flickr groups when I get back (and I'm sure I'll join... but there will probably be a bombardment of photos for awhile)
@newbie thanks Stacey... I'm going to go back into post processing on some of the shots and try them out with some type of b&w processing (like the 3rd one).. but yeah, I'm not touching the color on the woman in pink... not even selective coloring (which I already tried actually) shows how loud that get up is.
@jsw0109 No worries dude, and just remember that critique is just someone else's opinion and there is really no right or wrong when shooting street.
The Flickr groups are really good, gives you lots of idea's to try out etc. I only really got into street photography at the end of last year but here is all of mine on Flickr if you fancy killing 10 minutes
@nikkic thank you Nikki... I'm starting to get more comfortable feeling like a stalker LOL
