Not a photography pro, but I like the picture, its pretty with how you took a picture of the sunset showcasing its layers of colors like orange and yellow then how the last rays of sunlight are sort of clinging on to the rocks and grass then trailing the water. Its nice. :D
I think its really nice. I like the lighting, I like the path in the foreground that leads into the photo. If it was me I would have closed up my aperature as much as possible to get some nice star diffraction on the sun, but this is personal preference and perhaps is required a tripod.
very nice. the leading lines of the shore and path help the eye move up the photo. Ideally, I would have used a tripod and taken multiple pics at differing exposure times. Then using software like photoshop, I would have layered the pics to get maximum lighting in the foreground while keeping the colors you have in the background (it sounds more complicated than it is). This would keep the eye from going straight to the sun, the brightest point of the pic.
Steve-I was hoping to use the leading lines in this shot and you are right about closing up the aperature. I would have needed a tripod and I was out without one.
Dave-I thought of HDR when I got home and saw the image on my computer but as I mentioned, I was out without a tripod. I was afraid that the sun was drawing eyes to it too quickly.
I love the composition, the path in the foreground gives it some depth. The sun being so bright is slight overpowering, but for being without a tripod you did a fabulous job!
The composition and the use of lines in this image are great, however, I would've measured the exposure on the foreground and used an ND filter on the sky.
it's nice, but the over-shadowed ground takes away from it a bit. It would be cool to try HDR effects for shots like this, to get a greater variation in tones, or at least lightening shadows, and darkening highlights.
