Exif info missing

Why is it that sometimes when you click on exif there is no information? I look at this to learn how to do certain things or to try to understand the ratio between ISO, and other settings.

Some editing programs strip the exif data and some some people intentionally strip the exif data from their photos.

@soren thanks got that, though I don't see why people should intentionally remove it ... Well i do but discretion prevails for once. I didn't know that you could remove it anyway. However thank you to those who leave it on as it helps people like me learn a bit - I think- when I do look.

Whenever I use Picmonkey it all goes away

I have no idea how to remove it. If it's gone, it did it by itself.

As stated, some programs strip out the exif data. Also many on-line photo hosting sites and social media sites strip out the exif info. Many editing programs will let you edit or pick and choose what info to include. On my first upload I noticed the exif info was mostly missing and discovered I had Metadata set to "copyright only" in Lightroom's export settings. I switched it to "All" for my second upload and that filled in the missing info.
