Want to have fun and edit a photo for me?

May 18th, 2015
I am sharing an old photo from 2009, not the best quality, rule of thirds not followed, but the subject is perfect for something I am doing. This shot was taken long before I really got into photography but I was quite taken with the old couple walking on the beach, making the most of their health and ability to enjoy a stroll on the beach. I am now in the process of starting my own business, not photography but providing home based recreation therapy to older adults in their home - and specifically getting them set up with an exercise program to help them remain independent. I would like to use this photo for a banner on the top of my home page of a web site I am setting up.

The banner needs to be long and narrow, the old couple the main focus, don't really want their faces clear or identifiable. I have done a version of it myself and have it in my main album today. I imagine someone with better editing skills than me may do a much better job - so if you are interested in doing this for fun, please give it a go... and thanks! :)

Doing it at night, in a dark house while everyone is sleeping, so the picture might be a bit too dark now :). Sorry you probably cannot use it, as it is not long and narrow, but I could not cut iff the beautiful patterns in the sand. Thanks for posting, Linda! It was fun and a great learning opportunity.

Here's my offering with lots of film grain, light leaks, selective blurring and the like (if I can get the html to work)

Or you can see a larger version on my (new) blog here the real piccy

@creampuff Eve, just realized I can't comment on your blog. Thanks so much for the editing. I played with the idea of black and white, but these tones are really nice too. I like the background blurred as well.

@linah Just for fun and I really did have fun. I called this one Strolling Down Memory Lane.

I like the original shot and I would prefer a bit less 'fade' and a bit more definition in the banner. Think that would give a more positive message.

Off topic here, but can somebody tell me how you are getting the images to post into the reply?

thanks.

@jeffjones Hi Jeff, in order to get pictures to post in the reply there is three little dots underneath your picture, to the right of the icons that show how many comments and fav's you have. When you hover over the three dots you can then see it says something like "sharing and more options," and if you click on that and copy and paste the text (URL?) into the reply box. Hope that makes sense :) I don't always explain things too well.

Okay - so it has to be images uploaded to the site already - not form my desktop. Thanks.
