Second Time around

January 8th, 2016
I am back with a 365 project for 2016. I tried doing this on my own (not on the site) back in 2014 and got up through August before getting sidetracked and basically losing steam -- will not happen this year.

I have two goals -- 1) to see if I can chronicle one year in pictures with each picture tying to the day it was taken and 2) expand my creativity as a (VERY) amateur photographer. I realize that sometimes these can be conflicting goals but I am up for the challenge.

So with regard to #2 I wecome your comments/critique/suggestions. My project log starts here and will look for people I can follow, to learn, and to have fun. Thanks!

Welcome! Those are very good goals; I am certain that 365 will be a wonderful aid in making them happen! Just the accountability of seeing the days fill in on your calendar here is a wonderful motivator to keep going!

This is my second year with 365 ...I started last year with goals similar to yours, and found 365 to be a wonderful, helpful, encouraging community that helped me progress far more than I could have hoped. I have learned a lot here, and still have much more to learn!

I hope that, most of all, you have a lot of fun with your project this year!

@jaybutterfield Hi, I've just started my second year, I managed quite well up until November last year when life simply got in the way and is still somewhat complicated but my camera has remained a constant and I intend to keep at it and try a complete this year! Ha!

Welcome, and good luck! I just finished my first year, found it a rewarding experience (though not without challenges).

Hi, I am here for 2nd time, too. I completed my first project in 2012 and it was very satisfying and rewarding! I keep my fingers crossed for you ;)

Welcome Jay. I did a complete 365 project in 2011 and 2012, going 730 consecutive days before posting a collage on the last day of the year in 2012. At times it was grueling, but I know I'm a better photographer today because of this project.

I slowed way back for a next couple of years, but I've decided to try this again. Good lucky.

I am back again as well. I did a project in 2013-14 (a year, but not a calendar year). Then life got in the way. As I organized my photos from 2015 though (I am a big scrapbooker), I realized that the number of photos that I took was way down. I really only grabbed my camera for special events (my kids are teenagers, so no cute toddler photos). When I did 365 before, I just took a lot more photos and made photo opportunities for myself. I try to take pictures daily, but I am also really okay with taking a bunch of photos 2-3 times a week and using those to fill gaps. Today I went to the zoo and took tons of pictures and I'm not sure I would have gone if I hadn't started up on this project again!
