Hi,
I took this photo last night. And i remain intrigued by it... The first thing the viewed see is the strong light and the rear of the bumpy car. Only after a while we start seeing the real subject of the photo: the man in the smoke in a strange position, (i.e. not sitting in the car, as the others) like a ghost passing by.
However, I am not sure of the impact of this photo on other viewers.. maybe they just find it too foggy, and uninteresting. I would love to have your opinion about it....
Thanks
PS: I am new in this 365 project, so sorry if i abuse your time with this type of discussion thread!
There is a sort of sci-fi feel to this. I also experienced the double-look ...first the light on the car, then the floating man. When I look back again, I look straight at the man
It's fabulous, definitely intriguing. . Maybe if you cropped out some of the empty black on the left, only in to where the light streams down to the bumper car, it would draw your eye in a bit more.
What I like about it is not just the double take its the fact you then notice more people in the smoke the more you look. A tighter crop might bring them out more but then I'm only viewing on an 10" tablet screen I would imagine on a full size screen you would see more.
@francoise@homeschoolmom@chris17@rjb71 Thanks for your comments! I am happy to see that the pics indeed provoke an intruguing feeling, not only for me. Thanks also for the advise on cropping. I usually try to avoid cropping, and keep the 3:2 format... (i shoot that photo with a fixed 24mm lense).
I didn't see the person at first, either, but I found the photo very intriguing - a smoky scene at first, but there is so much more to this, it keeps you going back for more.
A very interesting photo if you look longer. I also only noticed the person after you mentioned it. I agree with the cropping, as it would put more focus on the person.
welcome to 365! i find this a very intriguing image... i love the visual interest that comes from the rays of light and smoke and the ghost-like figures... makes you spend time looking at it trying to make sense of it all... like some others, i'd be inclined to crop a bit to limit the distraction of the bits on the left - especially the stark line at the top left as i find it draws my eye out of rather than into the image...
This photos is intriguing when we first see it, but then we start understanding what it is. There is a lot going on in the picture so we don't really know where to look but i certainly think it has an interesting part to it with the smoke.
