I've seen a fair amount of anxiety regarding critique in the discussion forums here. Some people want critique, others not so much so. Some people feel comfortable giving critique and again, others not.
Some people say "critique welcome" in their profiles or in their posting. If you don't put critique welcome first in your profile it might get chopped off when looking at a given photo.
I just had an idea - How about if you're looking for critique on a photo you tag it with "critique". Then, there could also be under the Browse menu a "Looking for critique" option which shows all photos tagged as looking for critique.
This way there could be an easy way to indicate you want critique, and when you're viewing a photo and don't know if critique would be welcome there's a standard place to look. There are lots of programs or even OS support in Mac to have keyboard shortcuts to insert a standard set of tags.
I know this came up a while ago. I wanna say maybe march/april/mayish?
And the tag was exactly the same, and what I remember from using it is people actually gave critique, so this is an awesome idea. And hopefully it continues to work!
great Idea... I will tag and put it in my profile... I want to try to get good photos, however iknow some of them are probably from not having the best camera.
GOOD IDEA!!! i'd love to see "JUST FORUMS" on my right side of the monitor.. not CRITIQUE ME!!! i'd rather tag my photo with "CRITIQUE-ME" tahn making a new thread....
That's a good idea! Or if you want all of your photos in general to be critiqued, but don't want to tag every single one, there should be a button or word next to our name indicating that critiques are welcome, like how 'ace' pops up for upgraded accounts.
Wow - I'm glad so many people liked my idea! I've been thinking about it during the day, and for this really to work, I think @Scrivna would have to put a menu option up under browse, perhaps called "Critique me" or "Looking for Critique" or just "Critique" and then - here's the important part - the overview page showing all the photos would have to have a little explanatory text saying how to get your photos to appear on that page. E.g. tag your photo with "critique" or "critique-me" (we'd have to pick one.)

Also, I think that the number of photos with the tag could become quite large over time, so perhaps being able to view the "critique-me" tagged photos by day would be a good addition.
Great idea and would hopefully cut down on the threads asking for it as there has been so many lately. It perhaps needs to be a daily or weekly thing as I agree it would build up to an enormous amount of photos
