Car Collage - advice

February 12th, 2011
did a secret shoot with this young lady and her boyfriends car, as a present for valentines day, would love to hear some critique on this collage, its for an 18yr old guy, i hope he'll like it

I'm wondering about the individual image shapes, and if its too busy

I like it and I think he will really like it. I hate to criticize, but I think the pic with the young lady is over exposed....can you do another? or use some ps? Just my thoughts....He is going to love this no matter what. :)

@kathyd it IS overexposed, i meant it to do that :)
she didnt want to be in this collage, so i've used this picture so that you can still see she's in it but she's faded into the background enough not to be distracting

OK...missed that point completely! Would like to hear his reaction when she gives it to him :)

Having been a car photographer for about 3 or 4 years now... guys, especially 18 year old ones, will like anything. :p It's honestly not quite bad, only thing I can really critique you can't really do anything about, and that would've been to take the license plates off before you took the photos, as they're really distracting. It's mostly a personal thing of mine, I just cannot stand license plates in photos. So take it with a grain of salt...

All I can stare at are the horrible bling bling rims put on a Skyline. LOL. Granted it's a four door one, but still... bad rims.

Well I'm 40 ish and I have some bog standard snaps of cars I had at this age, I still get them out & look at them (god I'm sad). What I'm trying to say is that If this lad is like 90% of blokes out there he will LOVE what you've done with his car.

Yeah, both my dad and bro, have had pro photos of their cars done....so Im guessing he will love it......

That's brill, well done

@hmgphotos I did hide the plates in the top left image, it is something I was conscious of, I wanted at least one plate in there because they are personalized, his name is Sam. But I didn't know what to do with the rear view of the car image at the bottom left, I don't want to just black it out, maybe I could clone it out?

@pete21 @nikkers @kirsty1975 Thank you :) this was my first car shoot, my brother just started a car detailing business and we combined this deal, detail and photoshoot. Works out great for both of ud, and the clients are going to get the best possible photos after a good detail
