Which version of the portrait do you prefer?

May 1st, 2020
Hi guys!!!

I've done two editions, and the truth is that I didn't know which one to choose, but in the end I chosed the one I show first. Which one do you like the most? You can see between them in the page left down here (by sliding the bar in the middle) or in the shots left down this. I would appreciate an answer in a comment, all in order to improve :) Or simply with this one-answer questionnaire that appears when you click on the button on the site: Compare both images with a slide between versions

Thanks!!! You are amazing!!!

Yes, I'd have to agree with you. I like the first one better. I am no portrait expert, but the skin tone and exposure appears more natural and complimentary on the first image.

I agree with Ann @olivetreeann. Almost too much skin color in the second if that makes sense!

I actually prefer the second one, I like the darker background

That slider is an amazing tool! I feel the lighter is more natural, but I actually prefer the darker for the intensity of the eyes against the darker background.

I find the first one to be more natural and so I much prefer it. That slider is an awesome tool, BTW.

The first one, definitely!

I prefer the skin tone on the first one, although the second one looks a bit more mysterious.

What’s your purpose. I think the first is most clear if you are posting for a resume or something, but the second has some mystery to it.

I like the top one best.

The portrait of the first but the background of the second.

@olivetreeann thank you for your opinion!
@jackies365 yes, a bit oversaturated, isn't it? hmmm I'mn takign notes of your opinions :)
@kjarn and what about the skin on the first with the darker background?
@milaniet yes, it is! It's really cool to compare shots. Love your opinion on the contrast between eyes and background.
@farmreporter thanks! Yes, skin and background is way more natural (less edited). And slider is such a great tool :D
@bjywamer thank you!!!
@ludwigsdiana so, for a scary movie the second edit :P haha thanks!
@shutterbug49 there's no specific purpose, I wanted to take a portrait shot. That's also a great point, knowing what you want, in this case I think that my heart wanted a natural look
@homeschoolmom thank you!!
@vignouse thanks!!! So darkening the background on the first is an option
May 1st, 2020
Yes, I think the skin of the first and the background of the second might be the answer
May 1st, 2020
I prefer the first one. it shows more expression.
May 1st, 2020
I agree with a couple of others - face of the first but background of the second.
May 1st, 2020
I prefer the darker background but the first portrait.

@kjarn thank you so much!!!
@bruni thanks :D
@lilh I'll edit that again making the background darker. Thanks!
@jacqbb thank you so much!

I'm not expert but to me it depends on what look and mood you were wanting to achieve. The first is a softer look that to me portrays a more gentle person, the second a much more intense look that reminds me of how my father looked at me when I had done something wrong

@suez1e could be that also, when wanting to say something to someone that did a thing bad hahahaha
Thanks a lot!

i prefer the first portrait for skin tonal quality
symmetry appears balanced
proper contrast between eyes and hair color.

I think both are too processed. The composition and lighting are very good. Less smoothing would bring out more character.
