Day 40 and looking for input

March 22nd, 2011
So today was day 40. It seems as though most of the photos I post that I really like I get the least comments on. The ones I could take or leave, people tend to like. Can someone take a look and tell me what you think overall? What I should improve on. Is it process overkill? I know I'm lacking on creativity....and I know I have miles to go to get to where most of you are....Thanks!! and thanks for the inspiration!

I just took a look and now I am following you! I do not think you lack creativity at all. You have a very diverse group of photos. My favorites are the ones of your kids. I think your photography of them shows your closeness, your relationship. I tend to take mostly photos of my kids because that is my life and what I love right now. The other stuff, the more creative stuff, will come with time, if I want it. The main thing to ask yourself is "Am I having fun? Do I love doing this?" If the answer is yes, then you are doing just fine!

I think you're doing a great job and you have some really creative shots. I found that sometimes the shots I love the most get the least reaction, and I've come to realize it's just part of the art of photography. One thing that might help - do you comment much on other people's photos? It looks like you're following a fair number of people, but if you comment regularly, you'll find that you get more reciprocal follows and comments.

Just keep doing what you're doing and don't be afraid to try new things. You may not always get a positive or overwhelming reaction, but that's okay. I'm sure when you get to the end of your project, you'll notice that you've improved greatly. Comparing the first few shots of my first 365 to my first few shots of this 365, it's almost like they were shot by a different person. Good luck!

Your photos are awesome! One thing that I learned is that sometimes when I post a picture, there are so many more coming in right after mine that they leave the "browse latest" page so quickly and they get missed. I have felt the same way about a lot of my photos too, but I am learning that as long as my work makes me feel good - it doesn't matter anyway. Although, I do love getting positive reactions to my pictures too! :-) BTW - I especially love the picture of your little guy at the dr. office. I don't like the fact that he had to be there, but you certainly captured a moment!

@sevinstitches @melissapike @tmoore Thanks everyone! I am having fun, usually...LOL...until I cannot accomplish the vision in my head. It has improved slightly, however. I know this is ultimately for "myself" and nobody else but also the stipulation of my husband buying my new camera was for me to do this as a job...so I really have no choice but to improve and learn. My to-do list is sooo long though! I can't wait to see how they improve over the months, which was exactly why I started this day 1 of having my new camera! Thanks again everyone for the encouragement!!
