panasonic has a good p/s for 150-200, nikon has a few as well. i love my nikon dslr rigs, but for point and shoot i would suggest panasonic. just my 2 cents worth :)
Check out the fuji finepix line. They make some great small easy cameras that take very decent photos, and allow you the ability to use as a P/S, or manual settings to inprove your understanding of cameras.
It is right at your limit, but the Canon ELPH 300 HS is an excellent point and shoot. I agree with the Panasonic suggestions, just adding another option to the list.
@cgs So last night before i got all this feedback i was researching cameras and i found this one the Canon ELPH 300 HS as you mentioned and it had excellent reviews and did plenty of research on it and without even seeing any of these i decided to get it today and i love it! Thank you, thats awesome that you suggested that and i got it without even knowing you suggested it. Online at bestbuy it was $148, but in stores it was $179!!! So i told them about it and they matched it!
@purplepalooza That is great! I am glad you found something you liked. I had a similar experience with Bestbuy last month. I was shopping for a higher-end point and shoot. I found the Canon G12 on a deep discount online and they matched it in store. It was a very good feeling. I look forward to seeing what you do with your new camera. :)
@cgs Thanks :) Yes i know what you mean, it is a good feeling! By any chance out of curiosity was the discount you found online at bestbuy or did they match another site? Thanks! And yes i am very excited about it! I still have to post yestradays picture and then i guess i wont be posting a picture from day two from the whole memory card fiasco, and my picture was on there. :)
